What is Gift Aid

Gift Aid allows us to claim an additional 25p for every £1 you donate, at no extra cost to you. By simply agreeing to Gift Aid your donation, your support for our museum can have an even greater impact, helping us preserve Poole’s heritage and expand our programmes for the community.

How does Gift Aid work

If you’re a UK taxpayer, you can boost your donation by 25% through Gift Aid. Here’s how it works:

For every £10 donation, Poole Museum can claim an additional £2.50 from HMRC. All we need is your consent and a declaration that you pay at least as much UK income or capital gains tax as we’ll claim on your donations in the relevant tax year.

You only need to fill out the Gift Aid form once, and it will cover all your eligible donations – past, present, and future!

How to add Gift Aid to your donation

Adding Gift Aid to your donation is simple. You just need to:

complete the Gift Aid declaration form that will appear after you have generously donated money to Poole Museum Foundation online
relax – once you’ve declared, Poole Museum will handle the rest

Do I qualify for Gift Aid

If you’re a UK taxpayer and have paid at least as much in income or capital gains tax as we’ll claim on your donations this year, then yes, you’re good to go!

Can I cancel my Gift Aid declaration

No problem. You can cancel your Gift Aid declaration anytime - just get in touch and we’ll sort it. Please note this will only apply for future donations.

How do I update my details
