Poole Museum and Lushcelebrate shared roots with bespoke bath bomb

Poole Museum is proud to announce an exciting collaboration with Lush, the globally renowned ethical cosmetics company, founded and based in Poole, Dorset.

To celebrate the opening of Poole Museum, Lush created a bespoke bath bomb designed exclusively for the museum.

This unique product, featuring Poole Museum’s name, blends local pride with indulgent self-care, offering visitors to the museum a fragrant way to celebrate Poole’s vibrant history and Lush’s hometown roots.

The bath bomb is on sale in the museum shop, and also on display in the new Harbour Life Gallery in a timeline cabinet, showcasing Poole’s creative and cultural heritage while highlighting Lush’s ongoing commitment to supporting local culture and community initiatives.

Jaine Fitzpatrick, Interim Director, Poole Museum, said: “This partnership brings together two of Poole’s most recognisable institutions, and we’re thrilled to be working with Lush in their 30th year of business, to offer our visitors something truly special – a product that reflects the creativity that thrives in our community today.

“We are committed to working with local businesses and artists to create meaningful, memorable experiences for everyone. The bath bomb is more than just a product, it’s a symbol of pride in our culture, and a beautiful way to connect our past with the present.”

Councillor Millie Earl, Leader of BCP Council - which owns and operates Poole Museum - said: “As a lifelong resident of Poole, I'm really proud that our town is home to Lush. This collaboration celebrates the shared heritage and identity of our town, and it's a fantastic way to mark the museum’s transformation and give residents and visitors something truly unique to enjoy.”

Poole Museum is the only place globally that sells a branded seaweed inspired bath bomb from Lush, which offers a soothing blend of lemon and lavender oils.

Julie, Lush Archivist, said: “We were delighted when Poole Museum approached us with the idea of displaying one of our bath bombs within the museum. They chose the Big Blue Bath Bomb because of its special connection to the sea; one of its key ingredients, seaweed, was originally sourced locally from Poole Harbour.

“At first, I thought it would be wonderful to gift the museum team a personalised bath bomb once the project was complete. Then I realised how lovely it would be for visitors too, giving them the chance to take home a piece of history with a Lush bath bomb.”

Poole Museum has just reopened following a major transformation with over £10 million invested in the conservation, restoration and remodelling of its three listed buildings, thanks to generous support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council, Arts Council England, Historic England, and a wide range of partner organisations, trusts, and foundations.
