The Sea Music Project

The Sea Music Story (Floor 2)

Tuesday 22 November 2016 - Sunday 29 January 2017

The history and future of Poole Quay's 'Sea Music' sculpture by acclaimed sculptor Sir Anthony Caro.

This exhibition explores the history of this internationally important sculpture and the plans for its conservation on the 25th anniversary of its installation. 'Sea Music' was commissioned by Poole Arts Council to provide a feature and meeting point on Poole Quay. Built with help from local businesses, steel donated by British Steel, this was an amazing feat of partnership working.

In this exhibition you can find out local peoples' stories of how they were involved and also contribute your own story. You can also see how Poole Museum is working with the Heritage Lottery Fund to repair, repaint and celebrate the sculpture, show your support, and comment on the Sea Music Project's future plans for creative ways to learn about your heritage.

Exploring Sea Music (Floor 1)

Tuesday 22 November 2016 - Sunday 29 January 2017

The students will be using the floor 1 exhibition space as an artists studio so expect to see lots of visuals and creative making! You are welcome to come in to the space from 14 November - 2 December to see the work as it is being made and to ask questions.

From 12 Dec to 22 January you can view the finished artwork inspired by Sea Music.
