Music and Mime - Every Friday (term time only)

A fun music and signing group for babies and toddlers at Poole Museum.Sing nursery rhymes, make music and learn simple signs for everyday communication. Suitable for babies and toddlers (0-3 years old)

Every Friday (term time only)  

There will be no Music and Mime on Friday November 2nd. We will be back Friday November 9th.

Booking is not essential, but spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. FREE

Holocaust Memorial Day display

The theme of 2019’s Holocaust Memorial Day is ‘Torn from Home’. Join us in Poole History Centre to learn about those who have suffered persecution, reflect on what home means and how we can make people feel at home in our community.

Dementia-friendly exhibition tour: Calm Before the Storm

Explore the remarkable collection of images from both the archive of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and modern day photographs made by Jack Lowe as part of The Lifeboat Station Project.

This is an interactive session for those living with dementia and their carers. No previous experience or knowledge of art required.

A hot drink and cake will be provided in the café at the end of the session.

An Early Years session for 0-3 year olds that links with our Calm Before the Storm exhibition. Sing nautical songs, make ship shape crafts and look at some real sea-faring objects from the collection.

Meet the Artist: Calm Before the Storm exhibition tour

Description

Come along and meet photographer Jack Lowe, the man behind one of the largest photographic projects ever undertaken - The Lifeboat Station Project.

Jack will talk about the six-year Lifeboat Station Project and his mission to photograph all 238 RNLI lifeboat stations in the UK.

You will also have the opportunity for an exclusive look at his mobile darkroom, a decommissioned ambulance called ‘Neena’.

Free. Places must be booked in advance via Eventbrite.
