Set in an outstanding historic quayside building, Poole Museum offers a truly unique and one-of-a-kind venue. Oakley’s Mill, now Poole Museum, was a Victorian grain warehouse and flour mill.
Over our four floors of galleries and exhibition spaces, Poole Museum provides an interesting backdrop for guests to explore. Home to some amazing treasures, our collections tell the fascinating story of the historic maritime town of Poole and its harbour from prehistory to the 21st century.
Poole Museum will create a memorable experience as guests enjoy drinks amongst our internationally important maritime collections. These include astonishing finds such as the Iron Age Logboat, the largest prehistoric carved vessel in Southern Britain, and timbers from the first medieval boatyard found in Europe.
