Where I Live

This workshop comprises a guided tour of the Museum and self-guided local studies work in Poole History Centre.

The workshop will focus on the important aspects of Poole’s history that have made it the town it is today and the changes to aspects of life that no longer have a place in the modern town.

Learning Outcomes

Pupils will:

  1. Find out about the history of Poole

  2. Use maps and identify Poole landmarks

The class will be divided into two groups.

One group will look at maps and photographs in the Poole History Centre and the other group will take an interactive guided tour of the Museum.

Groups will swap after 30 minutes.

We are very happy for our staff to be photographed working with your pupils. Where consent is available we would be grateful for copies of digital photos we can use for promotion and publicity.

Health and safety

A risk assessment has been prepared to assist you in your risk assessment.

If your group has specific issues, such as special educational needs, learning or physical disabilities please raise these when booking so that we can tailor the session accordingly.

You will be invoiced for the workshop after our visit. Please advise us of any relevant order numbers if appropriate.
