Buried treasure in the sun shine

The sun is shining and we've been making the most of it, but being out as much as in. We've got a fantastic range of workshops that take place at Upton Country Park, including Outdoor Art, Minibeasts, Plants and Trees and much more. Take a look at our workshop pages for more details.

We're also out at Bearwood Primary tomorrow helping them with their exciting Magna Carta celebrations. We'll be excavating the school field to look for buried treasure, fire lighting and doing outdoor medieval cooking. I felt very lucky yesterday when I was rummaging around in our finds cupboard selecting archaeological objects to take into school. I got to hold stone tools, pots, coins and bones thousands of years old.

But what if it's raining, or too hot. Well pop down and look at our new RNLI exhibition, full of heroic deeds. On second thoughts, don't just wait until it rains, it's too good for that. Put it on your to do list, we'll see you soon. . .

I am very pleased to announce we've just received a grant from the South West Museums Development Partnership to create a new activity for preschools and nurseries. Just this morning I read the plan for the interactive story where we will take young children on an exciting tour of the World through Poole Museum. More about this to follow.
