Poems from Poole

Mystery object

A couple of weeks ago pupils from Baden Powell and St Peters and St Mary's Catholic Combined School took part in a writing workshop for talented writers. We also attended the workshop and took along some objects, which inspired some of the writing.

I've been sent some of the poems and they are fantastic. They have been thoughtfully compoised and make use of colour and images I can't do justice to. You can read the poems here.

On that note I've included a mystery object in this blog. Do you know what the photograph is showing? Feel free to post your ideas as comments.

History of Poole

I was talking to a teacher from a local school on Tuesday about developing a new unbit of work for Year 5 and in our discussions I mentioned the Poole Trail. Do you know about this?

If you haven't come across it, do take a look. It's basically a guided tour of Poole you can access via interpretation boards, a mobile website or your phone. It's a really interesting way to explore Poole through little audio clips, video clips and photos. Why not take a look.
