Apprentice Knowledge Exchange

Calling all apprentices!!!

Poole Museum is looking for apprentices aged between 16 and 24 years old to take part in its new Knowledge Exchange scheme. Apprentices are invited to apply for short placements at the Museum. During these placements apprentices will:

  • Develop their transferable skills
  • Find ways to develop their own specialism through the museum functions and collections
  • Gain additional experience
  • Contribute to the work of the museum

We are looking for apprentices from a range of backgrounds – including IT, Business Support, Customer Service, Engineering, Environmental Services – all subjects are relevant. An interest in history is not necessary.  Placements will be tailored to individual interests and needs.

Placements are intended to last for up to 5 days and will be scheduled at a convenient time. Placements can take place in a 5 day block or be spread across weeks or months.

Travel and lunch expenses will be paid. Apprentices from Hamworthy, Turlin Moor, Poole Old Town and the Bourne Estate are encouraged to apply.

Applications are open now for the first round of placements. The deadline for applications is Thursday 28 September 5pm.

Application is easy - just fill in an Expression of Interest form and email it to Trudie Cole (t.cole@poole.gov.uk). Take a look at this information about Poole Museum and its areas of work to help you fill in your application.

Trudie would be really pleased to hear from you if you have questions or would like an informal chat.
